The 22nd Annual Montana Hope Project Reunion was held in Essex, Montana on June 2nd & 3rd, 2007. We once again extend our thanks and deepest appreciation to the owners and staff of the Izaak Walton Inn for hosting our event. Special thanks as well to the owners of the Glacier Haven Inn for extending their generosity in hosting several of our families.
Events and amusements abounded to keep the Children of Hope entertained -- as well as their families and the other guests that were on hand to enjoy the festivities.
On Saturday everyone boarded the Glacier Park, Inc. buses to journey down the road to Minuteman Aviation.
Young and old alike -- everybody got to ride in a helicopter. Then, it was back on the bus for a trip to Galcier Park and a sack lunch - provided by Glacier Park - to round out a morning of fun.
The Cutbank Fire Department really had things smoking with the awesome barbeque they hosted. They had a helping hand, with volunteers who helped serve and clean up. They did a great job of keeping food, beverage and deserts available to anybody that wanted something.
With a calliope playing in the background, there were Limo Rides courtesy of Valet Limosine Co., motorcycle rides with the top pledge earners from the Ride for Hope, horse and buggy rides courtesy of Bob Marshall.
An extra special thank you to Burt and Monique of Coldstone Ice Cream in Missoula for providing cold treats on a warm summer day!
Mary Blaire has created an original bronze sculpture for the Montana Hope Project and the Hope Project will be selling limited edition casts of the sculpture. Watch our website for more details on this fund-raising effort.
It is because of all of the sponsors and volunteers, who give freely of their time and money, that we are able to hold these reunions.
Artist Stan Lynde was on hand for autographed prints of logo artwork.
Stan Lynde is an American comic artist, painter, and novelist.
Lynde created the comic strip "Rick O'Shay" in 1958, and it was a huge critical and commercial success. Like most of his work, it was set in the west and mixed humor with strong storytelling.
Stan is also the creator of the Montana Hope Project logo and he was on hand to personalize and autograph copies of his logo art.
